Service Projects - 2021/2022

2022 March Service Project

We have been asked to collect special items for the month of March for St. Bart’s food pantry in Trenton, and Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church in Ringoes.  Both food pantries are seeing many more people and are running out of food.  Let’s focus on:  Rice, tuna, peanut butter and Jelly.  Please pick up one or two of these items and bring to church this month.  Or you may leave items in the box outside.  Thank you in advance for your generosity.

You can also drop off your donation in the narthex or in the box outside of church. You can also make an on-line donation by clicking this link: https://secure.myvanco.com/L-Z0CW/home and choosing "Local Food Pantries."

The final results of our February Souper Bowl competition were 66 cans of soup were collected and over $900 was contributed!

2022 Souper Bowl Sunday

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:  SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY is FEBRUARY 13th
Due to the continuing COVID pandemic, we cannot gather for lunch so we will serve a delicious selection of soups in ‘To   Go’ containers.  You have two options:

  • If you’re attending church in person you can pick up a container (or two or three….) of soup after the service.
  • If you’re not comfortable coming into the building, Curbside Pick Up will be available.

There is no charge for the soup but we ask that you consider making a donation to support our local food pantries.

2021 Advent/Christmas Service Project - Diaper Drive Has Begun!!

Our annual Diaper Drive in support of the Hunterdon Diaper Bank is underway and will end with our Epiphany Sunday service in January.

The Diaper Bank is a partnership between the United Way of Hunterdon County and food pantries and agencies throughout the county, established to help ease some of the financial stress that our neighbors experience by providing free diapers, wipes, lotions, and incontinence products.  This is a critical community need, as these items are not covered by Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Women, Infants and Children (WIC), or other programs.

Here are the Hunterdon Diaper Bank's specific needs at this time:
  • This year we really need size 4, 5 and 6 diapers for babies.
  • We are pretty well stocked for adult incontinence products.
  • In addition, we are now collecting feminine hygiene products, so pads and tampons are also a priority.
Collection boxes will be in the narthex starting this Sunday.

Other ways to support the drive include:

If you use any of these donation options, please indicate that you are supporting through the Living Waters Lutheran Church (LWLC) Diaper Drive.

Judy and Charlie Segers had an opportunity to be bearers of good things. Last week they delivered the diapers and wipes to the local food pantry. This act of care and compassion was possible because of your generosity. Thank you!
