To Perform at Living Waters Church on Sept. 15

Free concert is part of Living Waters' "Inside the Artist's Studio" series.

August 30, 2013 - New Jersey-based singer/songwriters Kevin John Allen and Carol Barbieri will perform a free concert on Sunday, September 15, at Living Waters Lutheran Church in Ringoes, as part of Living Waters' ongoing "Inside The Artist's Studio" series.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a reception that includes wine, cheese and light refreshments, followed by a one-hour presentation from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., during which Allen and Barbieri will each perform various songs and discuss the influences and inspiration behind their music.

Kevin John Allen is a country and Americana singer/songwriter from Ocean, NJ, who has been writing and performing for more than 40 years and whose songs have appeared in movies, television and commercials worldwide. He has released two critically acclaimed CDs: "Dark Songs Written on Black Guitars" and "Life's Lonely Rodeo," and will be playing material from the soon-to-be released "The Long Road of Life." Carol Barbieri is an accomplished singer and guitarist from Long Branch, NJ, who has a solid local following as a performer and the host of a weekly performance event. She has recorded two CDs of her original music, "Let It Go" and the single, "Your Secret's Safe With Me" - a song that Barbieri, an adoption-reform advocate, wrote to her birthmother who died before they had a chance to meet.
